Services for a Variety of Needs

When the subject is business writing, each company has its own set of needs and constraints. To better tailor my service to your writing needs and budget, I offer several levels of service described below.

The first three services are primarily for those who want some kind of online or print marketing content. For the two editing services (Tune-Up and Supercharge) I’ll ask for a representative sample, so I can do a sample edit, determine a recommended service level, and provide estimated fees.

Tune-Up

This service is for business owners and managers who need only basic copy-editing of text to ensure inadvertent writing mistakes don’t harm the company’s credibility with its target market. The Tune-Up includes:

  • Short interview to understand the marketing piece’s purpose and intended audience
  • Correcting existing text for spelling, grammar, and word choice
  • One editing round

 Supercharge

This service is a mixture of the Tune-Up’s editing and the Blast-Off’s (described below) writing. With this service, Writing Jim will rewrite portions of the text to increase its resonance with the target market and copy-edit the rest of the text. The Supercharge includes:

  • One or more interviews to understand the marketing piece’s purpose and intended audience
  • Correcting existing text for spelling, grammar, and word choice
  • Edit existing text for organization and idea development
  • Rewrite up to 30% of text to improve readability and increase resonance with target market
  • Two editing rounds

Blast-Off

This service is for those who don’t have time time to write or whose writing is better treated as source material for a total rewrite. The Blast-Off includes:

  • Write text from scratch or rewrite existing text to appeal to target market and motivate readers to move along sales funnel
  • One or more in-depth interviews to understand the marketing piece’s purpose and intended audience
  • Review existing marketing material
  • Three editing rounds

Operations Policy and Procedure Writing

It’s difficult to identify project scope when writing policies and procedures for business systemization. If you need help getting business work flow documented into an operations manual, I usually charge by the hour and invoice monthly. If you’re concerned with budget, you can set a maximum monthly limit for me to work within. All the policy and procedure material I create for you are yours to  keep and we can work on a month-to-month basis.

Fees shown are maximums as indicated. Quoted fees are provided after a Words For Wealth consultation and needs assessment.
